The photobook album!

My photobook album!

It’s here – the photobook album that I had been working on a few weeks ago. The template was sent to Photobook about five working days ago and this morning, it arrived via Citylink courier…

The front cover of the hardcover album

I must admit that I prefer this over Pixart simply because of the overall feel and texture of the finished product. While the paper is not as glossy as Pixart’s pages, it has a canvas-like texture to it, which is very similar to photo printing done by bridal studios. This could be a personal thing but I prefer non-glossy finishes to my photos.

The canvas-like texture of the paper

The photo on the front cover is basically the first page printed out to size and then stuck on it, which makes it easier for wrapping up these babies in plastic for safekeeping and maintenance. One of my favourite aspects about Photobook is the ability to replace the entire page with your own designs instead of sticking firmly to the template. That way, you get to utilize every single space on your page and it makes it look more professional really.

Sharp and bright pictures!

While Photobook’s products are a bit tad more expensive, they have different sizes of albums and even posters as well as greeting cards. Frankly, I don’t mind paying a little tad more for a flexible software that allows me to churn out whatever I like/want. I bought a couple of vouchers during their Merdeka promotion and end up getting freebies!!!! Right now, I can’t wait to finish up the design for their A3 posters….really wonderful stuff here!!!!

This is definitely a keeper!!! For more information, do drop by their website and no, they are not paying me to say all this. Anyway, here are the last two pictures I took this morning before my camera went all nuts on me. It explains the weird colours, if you hadn’t realized…the book looks way better in reality!

  3. Hi, I’m currently on the hunt for bridal studios as well and was interested in Lasposa Bangsar and was really happy yo know that you had your photos done with them.

How did you find their photoshoot? Also, if you don’t mind, how much did your package cost and what did it include?

Thanks so much! 🙂 And congratulations to you and Nil! Here’s to a very happy life ahead!

  4. Pinkelle, the packages range from 2K to above and it depends on how many poses/gowns and etc you’d like. Mine was around 3K with 45 poses and five gowns (album sizes were 10×15 and 8×11, I think). The rest are typical – similar with any other bridal house. A lot of my friends who went there love the gowns so would recommend that you check out the place before signing up first. 🙂

  5. ooo…i used pixart too!! gorgeous isn’t it?? planning to use it to make ella’s first birthday album. 😀 they are just great!! anyway, i hope it’s not too late to wish u a happy new year n may 2008 be more productive n your resolutions come true. 🙂 *xoxoxo*
