Nearly a year ago, we made such a huge fuss over Klang assemblyman Datuk Zakaria for building a palace on land meant for low-cost housing developing without proper permits and running a satay stall illegally.
A few months later, he was fined a measly RM21,000 for some other offense. Last week, the newspapers reported that he is now moving into his palatial home. It has 16 bedrooms and 21 bathrooms admist people living in low-cost homes. Talk about major insecurity complex.
This is the Malaysian dream for you – where justice takes another form and equality hardly exists. It would appear that the government doesn’t serve anyone but the corrupted handful.
ps: My birthday was a quiet affair but that’s pretty normal for me. Sometimes I think I’m 40 at heart. >.<
