I JUST WANT TO ELOPE!

Well, actually I’m married already so screw the eloping part. I just want the whole thing to be over and done with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or maybe drown myself in tons of gelato.

Y’know…when they say that people usually enjoy the wedding planning process, I for one, am beginning to get utterly fed up and tired of it. I had a lot of things planned out for my wedding and what comes naturally were the expectations of it as well…now, I find myself wishing that I had done a lot of things differently.

Why can’t weddings be simple, cost-effective/cost-friendly and fun at the same time? I spent a bomb on my pre-wedding shots only to be thoroughly disappointed and they call themselves professionals. Now, I’m itching to take casual engagement shots with a photographer friend to make up for it but Nil is so turned off photoshoots because of what the pros did.

Don’t even get me start on the dinner part…

Maybe I should have just eloped and kahwin (gotten married) la.

*sigh*

It spreads…

Well, sort of…

My stomach is a little better but my blog is getting bombarded with spammy germs. Time for an upgrade, I suppose. Well, if anything starts breaking down from now till the work is done, you know why.

{Full of drugs and gas}

Day II of the food poisoning spell and my body feels totally weird.

I have a watermelon-like belly from the gas (UGH!) and my body is pumped full with a variety of drugs to stop me from running to the toilet every 15 minutes, control the amount of pain I have to go through and not to mention the swell of my already painfully distended belly (ok, I’m exaggerating!).

It doesn’t help that my period is here so I have double trouble down south – cramps, if you know what I mean. Am just wondering how I’m going to cope tonight – pain isn’t an issue (just down some painkillers) but the amount of gas I have in my belly is enough to drive me crazy AND make me sleepless. Makes me wonder why I even thought I was getting better and thus had two slices of Dr Oetker pizza.

Suddenly…I feel like puking. Nil thinks I always feel like puking when I have my period. Freaking hell. I hate my stomach. It’s just too sensitive to be Malaysian. =.=

Mon ventre…

It is at times like this that I wish I was a cow with four stomachs. Food poisoning isn’t so fun when you have just one stomach filled with a ton of gas. =.=

Note to self – when faced with (or should I say “eating”?) rotten/spoilt/unclean food, spit out IMMEDIATELY, do not swallow even the “juice” and wash mouth out with Listerine. Bah.

Yes, I have a VERY sensitive stomach.

What is wrong with parents today?

Note: Rant ahead about a certain group of new/young parents in today’s Malaysia. Race is NOT relevant to this. Stupidity is.

Another one of those cases where someone goes missing, except that it’s a 10 year old child we’re talking about and her dad was the one who let her loose around at 9pm ALONE.

Now, even as a 28 year old, I’m a bit wary and hesistant even about walking back home from cake decorating classes (located 15 minutes away on foot) at around 930pm. So what more a 10 year old child?

Why can’t parents understand that sometimes it is necessary to protect your child? Is it too difficult to get off their fat arses to accompany their child to the market? Or should we wait with bated breaths for another Nurin Jazlin to emerge?

In all truths, I hold no sympathy for parents who do not carry out their parental duties then whine about how the media and public has berated them. Too often have I seen children getting lost in the sea of people at crowded places. Only last week, there was an announcement at a shopping mall here in PJ about a lost little girl. All too common really. Every weekend, the pasar malam near my house is filled with people and sometimes I see children separated from their parents and looking utterly scared. Their parents? Busy looking at groceries or clothes. WTH.

C’est le printemps chez moi! – Part Deux

A sugar garden anyone?

After about an hour of pipping and assembling, this is my Level II graduation cake. My favourite item would not be the flowers but the birds. They took about two days to make and dry. But I just love how pillowy and cute they look! Should have drawn cartoony eyes!

One of my birdies...

Top layer is Whole Orange Cake (not exactly the kind of cake people here would enjoy because of its very very dense texture – all almond and orange instead of flour). My mum totally didn’t like it but I actually found it refreshing to eat something other than flour in cakes all the time.

Wildflowers

Tiny shiny beads...

Yes, it’s another finished knit (FO)!!!!!

Wildflowers
Pattern | Kiri
Yarn | 100% wool in brown-gold-purple/red
Needles | 4.5mm circulars (very loose cast off by using 7.5mm needles)
Modifications | A sprinkle of beads here and there…

It’s been ages since I last knitted with anything made with wool and blocking this brings back fond memories. The yarn is soft, warm yet not too springy or too stiff. Just nice, really. I got some leftovers with this gorgeous myriad of colours and will probably use it again for a lacey scarf…or something. It’s just too good to put aside.

Baroque is balanced!

I actually finished this last week but never got around to showcasing it. Blame the hectic start of the new semester at the office. =.=

Baroque

Yarn | 100% silk in black-blue
Needles | 4.5mm circulars (very loose cast off by using 7.5mm needles)
