Another pair!

bronze_a

Size: 6
Heel height: Approx 3.5 inches
Location: Esarli at The Curve
Cost: RM59.90

Just so you know, this was the last pair. What they say about shopping for shoes is really true – if you find a pair that you like, just buy it. Waiting for the sale doesn’t help one bit, especially if you’re a size 5 or 6. Anyway, I reckon this will go nicely with my RoM dress (and I could use it for the photoshoot).

Oh, on an almost-non-related stuff, Nil’s Single Status letter is done and it looks like by early July, I’ll be le nouvelle Madame Grousson. LOL.

Some silver bling-bling, anyone?

silverblack_a

Size: 6
Heel height: Approx 4 inches
Location: Nautini, Jusco at 1-Utama
Cost: RM79.90

I bought another pair of shoes just to make up for the fact that my favourite black high heels which has seen about a good seven years broke yesterday. I’ll probably use this for the photoshoot since silver – as they say – goes well with most gowns.

Now, Nose had some really nice bronze/gold shoes but I didn’t get them because 1) heel was too low (I need about 3-4 inches at least!!!! Nil is too tall!) and 2) not very tasteful bling-bling factor. I think I might stop here but who knows?

Oh…and those white shoes I bought? The store has one pair left. YAY for me!

Yarns I want!

If money wasn’t an issue, I would drown myself in these skeins. Unfortunately it is, so I can only drool in front of my pc, ask for quotes, feign a heart attack at the sight of the price quoted and be happy with just that.

sundarayarns
Sundara Yarn – Silk Lace (from sundarayarn.com)

Sundara’s babies are one-of-a-kind and gorgeously handdyed. I don’t know how she manages alone but the work she churns out is just yummy. I have been observing her and she has gone from sock yarn (what she is known) for to other things – aran or worsted weight and this: silk lace. These babies are worth a whooping USD65 per skein (100% silk at 1000 yards). I haven’t exactly found out the cost of the shipping but the price is enough to deter me.

This is perhaps what most knitters dream about! A hank of seasilk. Prices fluctuate around the USD35 mark per skein (600+ yards of 70% silk, 30% seacell) depending on the retailer. I found some good stores on ebay as well as Ravelry.com and the rest of the Net. The trouble is that together with the shipping and all, well, lets just say that USD50 for ONE skein is a bit steep…for now. *sigh*

2 ply handpainted silk by Piece of Beauty (pic by knittingpea)

I’ve been waiting for ages for her to open her shop and when she finally did, I took a look-see and fell hard…particularly for the 100% 2 ply silk hank. For a hank of yummy handpainted 656 yards of silky lace, you’ll have to fork out £ 16 and shipping is around £ 2.5 unless you live somewhere else other than Malaysia. I’m still contemplating on getting this in the Pink Beach colourway – to go with my dinner dress next year. Nil went “WHAT?!????”, coughed and sputtered when I told him about it. So I guess “Only in my dreams.”

Aiii…all these yummilicious yarns…so unattainable.

:crying:

Hm.

Quick question!

In his statement of claim, Goh stated in 1968, that he met Heng, an Indonesian illegal immigrant then and five years later he cohabitated with her.

He claimed in 1980, after she had become a Malaysian citizen, he bought the house but kept the title deed with him.

How exactly does an illegal immigrant become a Malaysian citizen in less than 15 years when businessowners and expats who have been here for over 20 years can’t even get PR?

Should I change the shoes or not?

me_newdress me_newdress_a

Problem #1: Shoes are white-gold.

Problem #2: Shawl is white with gold beads.

I can’t change #2 without changing #1 as well or vice-versa.

Soooooo…yay or nay?

ps: Yes, I went out and bought two dresses – this and another in dark wine. ^.~

UPDATE: White Whispers

I couldn’t exactly concentrate on just knitting alone since the past few weeks have seen me going from free to super busy, and jobless to now-employed. I started White Whispers a few weeks back with the intention of using this for my RoM this year. Once we get the paperwork done, it’s off to the Registrar to sign the dotted line.

Beady white goodness

Right now, I’m at the 9th (or was it the 8th) repeat of the pattern and chugging along oh-so-slowly but dilligently towards the finish line. I’ve changed a little of the beading style, choosing use beads up to a certain row, omit them altogether and inserting them again for the edging (which I have yet to finalize). So really, this is a work and idea that is constantly in progress and renovation.

I am aiming to finish this by end of June so…yeah, better get back to knitting. ^.^

Great surprises!

SP10 goodies! OMIGOD!

Remember how I said that my SP10 spoiler sent me some gorgeous things? Well, specifically she got me some Regia sock yarn and yummy sweet stuff! I haven’t tried the candies but those cute heart things have piqued my interest. They just look absolutely gorgeous. (We don’t get that kind of stuff here, btw, SP!)

Oh, did I say that the postcard is a great shocker and pick-me-up???? Every time I look at it, I smile…and it’s the “I’m silly and I don’t care” type.
