It is hard to believe what people are capable of sometimes. To a certain degree, I’m still very much an idealist but as days go by, it is hard to remain so.
- Back-stabbing.
- Betrayal.
- Abuse.
- Wanton behaviour in exchange for some fragment of popularity, attention, love.
- Lies.
- Dishonesty.
- Pride.
- Laziness.
- Hypocrisy.
[Yes, we are guilt of some in small portions but when it comes in huge amount, it is hardly wise to excuse it to the human spirit.]
Sometimes I think of them and I wish I was really wrong.
Yet every time my hopes come up, something comes along to shatter it…like today.
Suddenly I feel sorry for humanity.
Not everyone is like that, only some, but everyone is guilty of doing all the things aformentioned. Since we cant change others, why not change ourselves and serve as a living example of our ideals, as this serves to show people that it is possible. That was what confucius did. You can never go wrong with showing by example
If we get screwed by them, we still have a reserve bank of 30% spirit and willpower to grow out of that rut of despair and hurt that we feel when those whom we grew to trust and depend on , pull a fast one on us!:(
Always pays to learn from our mistakes and watch out for the smoothtalkers who will time and times again prove our worst fears right!:-b

i hate to point this out Joey, but leading by example is just something that can be said, not done. You try to be hardworking and kind, people will say you’re trying to suck up to the boss, or that you’re doing more than is expected.
You try to do things the right way, people call you “stoopid” cuz you’re “wasting time”. They would encourage you to cut corners.
The popularity thing is one that I honestly can’t stand mei. I’ve seen my very own colleagues at work, just fresh employees like me sucking up and flattering their bosses and all that…all for a good favour. And I even approach one of my colleagues about it and according to him…doing this is the ONLY way to get up and climb to success.
I’ve alot to learn about the hidden values in a corp. culture, but one thing I do strive to do is to have integrity and self-worth. Cheating, being hypocrtical and lazy is just a mere reflection of who you really are at the end of the day.
