Buying dogs just for feng shui?

To would-be dog owners as highlighted by The Star,

Having a dog is not easy. Caring for it may almost be akin to caring for a child. There is, after all, the grooming, training, exercise, diet and medical bills to think of. Consider this decision carefully before you go all out just because it is the Year of the Dog. Your decision affects many lives, namely yours’, your family’s and the dog’s.

And should you ever decide to go ahead with it, don’t dump your new pet halfway when it has outgrown its cuteness or when it becomes annoying or tiresome to care for. Give it to someone who will love and care for it more than you ever can.

Dumping is never the solution. It is the problem.

Sincerely,
A loving dog owner.

That would be the tone I would use for the papers. But since this is a blog, I’ll just get straight to the point.

WHAT THE FUCK do you people think you are doing? Just because of feng shui reasons, you get a FUCKING dog?!????!!? You think a dog is like an object ar? When you want it, you get it. When you don’t want it, you throw it. What the hell is wrong with people these days? I know I should give them the benefit of the doubt but you know what? I have seen too many dog-dumping cases to be nice to idiots who buy puppies just because it’s the Year of the Dog.

Go la adopt a dog from SPCA or something. But no, we are getting people buying pedigrees coz of some Chinese feng shui thingie. ~_~ I curse you people who, over the next few months, will dump your dogs in the local padang or to SPCA just because they became a handful or got ugly or worse, mistreat these poor innocent creatures.

I CURSE YOU!

Stupid morons…buying a puppy just because it’s CNY and for feng shui purposes. You make me fucking ashamed just to be lumped into the same ethnic group with you, man.

(ps: If you have been really thinking about getting a puppy/dog and am sure, then good on you. I’d be happy to help with tips and stuff. Oh…take pictures ya?)

  1. i think this is also very much due to a certain woman with a chain of fengshui stores to her name… and her strange consultation tips. Things that have seriously, nothing to do with fengshui at all.

  2. MS: That person honestly drives me bonkers with her voice. Dunno why my mum used to follow her program religiously. =.=

Yvy: I’m sure you are one of the few who actually think before getting doggies and sayang them to heaps. But a lot out there don’t think about their decision carefully or when they get their pets, they don’t care for them properly, ie no training, no grooming, don’t give them attention.

Sorry if I sound mean but I know too many people like that and it makes me very very upset. :(

  3. Now that explains why the pet shop I went to last night have empty little holes used to be occupied by dogs. (I was there to buy fish food, ok? :d )

  4. of course i understand. had one case here where the owners moved n left the dog HERE in my housing estate to fend for herself. pure breed lagi! (dunno wat breed lar, i forgot) so my friend took her in. poor thing! lucky for my friend, if not she would have either died of ctarvation or shot. :((

  5. yea it is really sick and disgusting in many ways…I mean why are these people actually buying dogs? To have a companion or just to see to their own personal selfish needs?

    sigh :(

  6. start by feeding/adopting those stray dogs in your neighbourhood.

at the very least, they’ll guard your house when ur not around :)
